hyper-v server 2012 - do i still have to use hvremote in a workgroup environment?

1. do i still have to use hvremote in a workgroup environment and if, is it compatible?

• Im about to try out HVS2012 in a workgroup environment(both, HVS and the managing client)

2. if its therotically possible to connect to my non domain HVS2012 host from a non domain client, can i manage my server from a windows 7 client (RSAT tools installed)?

• or do i have to use a windows 8 client with RSAT preview to manage a HVS2012?
