Hi Everyone,
I'm trialling Windows Server 2012 at home and thought I'd try out DirectAccess, unfortunately configuring it for the first time I'm getting the error message:
"An external adapter with a public IP address, IPv6 Enabled and without a domain profile cannot be located"
So a couple of things about my setup:
- I'm running Server 2012 with DirectAccess and RRAS installed on top of Server 2012 with Hyper-V.
- My ISP supports IPv6, but my modem doesn't natively, so I've configured RRAS as a demand-dial interface and set my modem to "dumb mode" - This also helps avoid double-NAT
- I successfully receive an IPv6 Configuration
- I have enabled NAT on the demand-dial interface to share the net with the rest of my home network - This works fine.
- I am trying to configure DirectAccess as an Edge topology.
Based on this, I believe that I've met the first two requirements (public IP address, IPv6 enabled)
There are two things that could be the problem by my thinking, but I'm not sure on how to solve it.
The demand-dial interface is not appearing in Network and Sharing Center which means that DirectAccess might not even see it and if it can, I cannot tell if it's configured as a domain profile. It does appear in IPConfig with it's IPv6 address and it's IPv4 address.
Any help would be appreciated.
