Unable to access Server 2012 Foundation on ports that have been opened in Windows Firewall

Hi Guys,

I'm running Server 2012 Foundation RTM on a test box, basically to get to grips with it and see how it looks. I'm trying to run a Java based server app that listens for HTTP traffic on port 8090. I'm unable to access this app from anywhere except http://localhost:8090 on the server itself. If I try and access it from http://192.168.1.20:8090 in IE on the server (or from any other PC on the local network), I'm getting 'This Page Cannot Be Displayed'. If I try from http://localhost:8090, the app works as expected.

I've added port 8090 as an exception in Windows firewall and restarted the firewall service, with no change in results.

I've disabled the Windows firewall entirely (for Domain/Public/Private networks) and restarted the firewall service with no change in results.

When I run netstat -a the server is listening on 0.0.0.0:8090, so it isn't listening on the wrong IP.

If I try a port scan using NMAP from another PC, I'm not seeing 8090 as open.

It can't be a conflict with another program listening on 8090, as that would affect traffic from localhost as well.

I'm basically doing my head in at this point trying to figure out what is blocking this port. I'm able to access port 80 and 443 OK from both the server and the lan, so I know it is at least capable of receiving traffic.

Extra information - this server has a pile of roles installed for testing with. It is a DC, and has these roles installed:

AD CS

AD DS

App Server

DHCP

DNS

File And Storage Services

IIS

Remote Access

Any ideas? I'm sure I've missed something really silly, but I can't for the life of me think of what.
